Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get started?
Simply register your interest by filling out the form below. Once you submit your details, a member of our team will contact you to confirm receipt of your expression of interest. The selection process involves two rounds of interviews, followed by the onboarding process.
As part of the onboarding process, you are required to pass our Fit2Work checks which include personal and professional background checks and are required to complete mandatory learning as nominated by KPMG Risk to maintain the integrity of our workforce. Once onboarding is complete, you join our Flex for Legal bench and wait for a suitable opportunity.
It is important to note that by submitting your CV, you agree for KPMG to transpose your CV into a KPMG Flex for Legal CV template, and to anonymise any identifiable details when required. After registering, you can join the flex bench and patiently wait for a suitable opportunity to arise.
How does it work?
Once you become part of the Flex for Legal bench, we will reach out to you when a suitable opportunity aligns with your skills and expertise. During this communication, we will discuss your availability and gauge your interest in the opportunities that match our client's specific requirements. If agreeable, we will forward your anonymised CV to our client.
If our client wishes to proceed, you will interview with the client. We will then agree the contract terms with you and you will be all set to begin your engagement with the client.
What do you need to be a Flex lawyer?
As a lawyer, you will be required to:
- Hold an unrestricted principal of law practice practising certificate;
- Contract through your personal incorporated legal practice; and
- Hold and maintain relevant insurances including professional indemnity insurance and workers compensation.
If you wish to join our Flex network but do not operate an incorporated legal practice, please refer to your jurisdiction's law society for requirements.
As a legal operations professional, you will be required to:
- Contract through your personal business; and
- Hold and maintain relevant insurances

How is your compensation determined?
The daily rate is dependent on our client's requirements and budget. We will inform you of the rate and hours required when we contact you to discuss a suitable opportunity.
When will you get paid?
You will be paid monthly. As KPMG contracts with your business, salaries are exclusive of any superannuation guarantee contributions.
Can I work for anyone else?
We do not place any exclusivity on you and you are free to join other flexible resourcing providers. You will however be required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest prior to accepting an opportunity.
